Oyinlola is politically inconsistent –PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party has described its suspended National
Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as politically inconsistent.
The National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, stated this
in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Special Duties,
Abiodun Ojo, in Abuja on Friday.
Oladipo was ostensibly responding to the claim of Oyinlola that he
Oyinlola has not defected to the All Progressive Congress and that he
remains the national secretary of the PDP based on the judgment of the
Court of Appeal.
While saying that Oyinlola was an opportunist, Oladipo said those who
drafted him to the governorship race in Osun State in 2003 which he
won, had regretted their action.
He said, "His (Oyinlola's) political opportunism, which shocked many
principled politicians, especially those who drafted him into the
governorship race in 2003, is an embarrassment to us in Osun state and
to his many old allies and associates within and outside the
government.
"Being a political inconsistent is not what we are worried about ; the
problem is when political shamelessness(sic) is added to such
reprehensible conduct.
"Ever since Oladipo emerged as the National Secretary of the ruling
People's Democratic Party, he has deliberately refrained from taking
issues with Oyinlola because of his respect for old relationship even
when such are ruptured now."
Oladipo, who served under Oyinlola as the governor of Osun State,
however, said he viewed the turn of event as troubling.
He said the recent activities of Oyinlola were raising so many
questions about his understanding of politics and suggesting a
political disorientation of sorts.
