Hoodlums Thursday stormed Ehin-Ogbe community, a border town in Ogijo,
Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, and beatup the monarch,
Oba Akeem Elupepe, and some residents.
While narrating his ordeal, Elupepe accused a rival to the throne,
whom he identified as Moshood Okeowo, of sponsoring the hoodlums,
adding that the suspected sponsor of the hoodlums used policemen in
Lagos State as shield.
He added that before the hoodlums attacked the village with the
assistance of policemen led by a sergeant from a police station in
Ijede, Lagos State, he had reportedly summoned him and other four
people in the village over a petition written by Moshood Okeowo, Taiwo
Okeowo and Bashiru Okeowo for alleged rape anddetained them.
But it was gathered that the monarch and four others sustained some
injuries following their attack by the hoodlums who chased themout of
the community and subsequently took over the area, claiming that the
land belong to their forefathers.
However, when contacted, the Ogun State Police Public Relations
Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said the police command was yet to be
briefed about the incident.
