PDP crisis: Dikko’s C’tee recommends expulsion of Kazaure

CRISIS rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has taken another
turn as the Alhaji Umaru Dikko led Disciplinary Committee has
recommended to the Alhaji Bamanga Tukur that the the National Vice
Chairman(North west) of the Party,Alhaji Ibrahim Kazaure be expelled
from the party with immediate effect .
The recommendation is coming is coming barely fifteen days after the
same committee recommended for expulsion former governor of Osun State
and suspended National Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former
Acting PDP national Chairman and chairman of defunct splinter group of
PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje and his deputy, Dr. Sam Sam Jaja over
alleged anti-party activities.
It was gathered yesterday that the decision to recommend for the
expulsion of Kazaure from the party was taken after members of the
Committee held a meeting on Tuesday in Abuja which lasted for several
hours, just as Alhaji Kazaure who was earlier invited to appear before
the Committee but did not, failed again to appear before it despite
the opportunity extended to him to give him the right of fair hearing
It further said that the decision of the Committee would be
communicated to the National Working Committee,NWC of the Party for
further action.
It will be recalled that Alhaji Umaru Dilkko had last month asked the
Bamanga Tukur led NWC to expel from the party, Prince Olagunsoye
Oyinlola.
Oyinlola was recently re-instated as National Secretary of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP through a judgment by an Appeal Court sitting in
Abuja, but rather than ask him to resume, he was suspended and also
summoned by the party to appear before the Dikko led Discplinary
Committee.
Addressing Journalists last month at the end of the meeting of the
Committee which took place at PDP presidential Campaign office, Legacy
House, Maitama, Abuja, deputy Chairman of the Committee and former
Minister of Transport, Chief Ebenezer Babatope disclosed that Chairman
of the defunct splinter group of PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje and
his deputy, Dr. Sam Sam Jaja were also asked to be expelled from the
party.
Chief Babatope had also told Journalist that on the then suspended
Ambassador Ibrahim Kazuare, the Committee recommended that his
suspension was extended by one month, adding that he was expected to
appear before the committee December 10.
Chief Ebenezer Babatope had said. "On the fourth person Alhaji
Kazaure, the committee took time to examine his case very well and
discovered that there are certain things we want to find out from him
because we feel that there are some things that should be resolved to
him on the basis of the charges being proved beyond reasonable doubt.
"So we have tried to listen to his case again. First of all the
committee has recommended that his suspension should be extended by
one month and then he should report to us in two weeks time December
10 by which time we would be able to talk to him and find out from him
all the things the committee wants to find out.
"So the position of the committee is that three stands expelled and
one has his suspension extended by one month and for him to report to
the committee in two weeks time. All these recommendations are being
passed on to the NWC for their final decision."
The National Disciplinary Committee which is Chaired by second
Republic Minister of Transport, Alhaji Umaru Dikko, has former
Minister of Transport, Chief Ebenezer Babatope as Deputy, with former
Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Shauibu Oyedokun; Hajia Nana
Aisha Kadiri; Publisher of Champion Newspapers, Chief Emmanuel
Iwuanyanwu; Barrister Hussaini Duraki Kazaer as members with the PDP
deputy National Secretary, Onwe Solomon Onwe as Secretary.
