Yahaya Mahmud (SAN), Dies In Kaduna

SaharaReporters has learned of the death of famous Kaduna-based lawyer
and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Yahaya Mahmud.
Details are still sketchy but he is said to have been battling with
serious hypertension that led to a minor stroke.
Mahmud was a lawyer to several prominent Northerners, including a
former Nigerian military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida and to the
present governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. Before
his death served as the chairman of the Governing Council of the
Federal University of Technology, Akure in Ondo State.
His last public outing was last Monday in Kaduna when he presented a
memo [on behalf of Kaduna State] to the committee saddled with
organizing the proposed National Dialogue, during the North-West Zone
public hearing.
Mahmud, a former magistrate court judge, hailed from Zaria, Kaduna State
