Sambo, ministers marked Jonathan’s birthday in absentia

Ministers and other members of the Federal Executive Council led by
Vice President Namadi Sambo on Wednesday marked the 56th birthday of
President Goodluck Jonathan at the commencement of the council's
weekly meeting.
Jonathan did not however attend the meeting as he is currently in
London where he will be presiding over a three-day meeting of
Nigeria's Honourary International Investors' Council.
A giant-size birthday card signed by all FEC members in attendance was
presented to Sambo for onward delivery to the President.
Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar, and the Minister of
Agriculture, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, took turn to pray for the
President after which council members sang a birthday song.
The Vice President, in a short remarks, described Jonathan as divine
gift for the country.
Sambo said there was no doubt that the great destiny of the President
born to the Jonathan family of Otuoke in Bayelsa State exactly 56
years ago had helped the individual destinies of FEC members.
He said the only thing they could give in return is to thank God for
His grace upon the President and continue to pray that he succeeds in
the noble assignment of transforming the country.
"There is no doubt the great destiny of this man has helped our
individual destinies. What can we give him in return. We thank God for
his life and also commend him for His guidance protection and the fear
of God. We continue to pray that Mr. President succeeds with his
primary course of transforming our dear country," he said.
