Yoruba actor, Mr Latin, establishes foundation to help the needy

Mr. Latin listed some of the objectives of the foundation.
Popular Yoruba actor, Bolaji Amusan, popularly called Mr. Latin, has
established a foundation to enlighten Nigerians on issues relating to
drug abuse, marital and child rights, and to help empower the less
privileged.
The comedian, who spoke exclusively to PREMIUM TIMES at his base in
Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, said he established the
non-governmental organisation to give something back to the society
that has made him famous.
He said the foundation is already helping some youth and widows to
foot their medical bills, and called for support from corporate
organisations and individuals.
"As you read, many children, women and youth are dying but with your
support we can put smile on their faces…Save a life today," Mr. Latin
said.
Mr. Latin listed the mission of the foundation as: to enlighten the
public on the dangers of drug and child abuse, to empower youth and
widows to be self-reliant, to serve as a platform to unlock the
potential of the people, to create an awareness on the importance of
green and healthy environment, and so on.
He said the foundation will also encourage and support people living
with HIV and Aids, Diabetes, and kidney ailments.
The foundation is also organising a lecture with the theme: Role of
Celebrities in Nation Building. The event is scheduled for October 27
at the Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.
Mr. Latin said awards will be given to prominent Nigerians at the
lecture venue. Expected recipients include the deputy leader of the
Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Abdulazeez Alao-
Arisekola; the wife of Ekiti State Governor, Bisi Fayemi; Iyalode of
Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson; and the wife of the Ogun State Governor,
Funso Amosun.
He said the chairman for the occasion will be popular Fuji musician,
Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, while the Royal Father of the Day will be the
Osile of Oke-Ona, Egba, Adedapo Tejuoso.
The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, will be the Special Guest of
Honour, while Dele Odule and Jide Kosoko are the Host and Chief Host
respectively.
