Rivers lawmaker, Tonye Ezekiel Harry dies on his way to France

A FORMER Speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly, Hon Tonye
Ezekiel Harry is dead.
Governor Amaechi in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary David
Iyofor described Harry's death as deeply shocking and traumatic for
him. He recalled with nostalgia and fond memories the life and times
of Tonye Harry.
"I am still traumatize by the sad news of the death of Rt. Hon. Tonye
Harry. I still find it impossible to come to terms that Tonye is no
more.
I was with him, by his hospital bed shortly after he fell ill and
everyone was very hopeful that he was going to come out of the health
crisis, stronger and better. Sadly, he couldn't make it but God knows
best."
Until his death Hon Harry represented Degema constituency in the state
House of Assembly.
Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon Lii Kwane confirmed the painful
development to newsmen in Port Harcourt on phone. Kwane said he was
told that Harry died in the early hours of yesterday.
Saturday Vanguard gathered that the lawmaker died in a flight heading
to France from Algeria after an alleged heart attack.
He reportedly slumped in Port Harcourt within the week during one of
his exercise sessions. Governor Chibuike Amaechi was reportedly by
his bedside at the hospital.
He was allegedly stabilised at the hospital in Port Harcourt and was
heading to France for alleged thorough medicare before he gave the
ghost The late Harry spoke Yoruba language flawlessly and was one of
the 27 pro governor Amaechi lawmakers in the House of Assembly.
At the time of this report the state government and the House of
Assembly had not issued formal statement on the demise
