L-R: Tunji Okusanya and Deji Falae
Tunji Okusanya
Trained as an engineer, Tunji Okusanya ran MIC, a funeral home in
Lagos. He was also one of the celebrity go-to undertakers in Nigeria.
His choice of career was influenced by his father, who dealt in
caskets.
He attended Christ Church Cathedral, and after school, would go and
work at his father's shop located on Lagos Island.
Although he was trained as an engineer, Okusanya never practised as
one. He attended a technical school in the United Kingdom offering
degree programmes. He lived in the UK for seven years before returning
to Nigeria.
The name of his father's company was Magbamowo Industrial Company. He
picked the first letter of each word to arrive at MIC. He started MIC
in 1982.
He was a Christian.
Deji Falae
Deji Falae, was a Law graduate from the Obafemi Awolowo University. He
was the Commissioner for Tourism in Ondo State until his death. He had
previously worked at West One Resources Limited and Gold Estates
Limited.
He headed a panel set up by the State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko,
in the course of an enquiry into the activities of the local
government councils in the state, to ascertain the actual number of
authentic workers legally employed by the state government.
The panel was saddled with the responsibility of fishing out ghost
workers in the establishment and uncovering some of the workers who
were in the payroll of the local councils but were illegally employed.
