Police rescue Indian from drowning

The anti-crime unit of Marine Police rescued one Singu Amanpreet, 29,
an Indian, who was stranded on the high sea in the Lagos, yesterday.
He was said to be aboard his vessel, MSC Monica, that left Tin Can
Island Port, Lagos, yesterday, at 1a.m. and for over four hours, the
vessel was floating on the sea.
Vanguard learnt that an alarm was sent to policemen attached to the
marine section, who embarked on a rescue mission.
After he was saved, the Indian was taken to the Military hospital for
medical attention.
Speaking later from his hospital bed, the Indian said he was in the
sea for over five hours and if not for the timely intervention of the
Marine Police, he may have died there.
