President Goodluck Jonathan has felicitated with Nigeria's former Head
of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.), who clocked 79 on Saturday.
Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, in a statement on Friday said in
a congratulatory letter to Gowon, the President thanked him for his
steadfast support for the present administration and wished him many
more years of good health and fulfilling service to the nation.
Jonathan on Friday, however, commiserated with Nigeria's leading
entrepreneur, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on the death of his eldest
brother, Alhaji Garba Dangote, in Kano.
According to Abati, the President joined Dangote and members of his
family in praying that Almighty Allah will receive his late brother's
soul and grant him eternal rest in Paradise.
Meanwhile, the President is expected to visit Ekiti State today (Saturday).
