JTF kills six, arrest 11 suspected B’Haram members

No fewer than six suspected members of Boko Haram were killed and
another 11 arrested by the Joint Task Force on Sunday.
A military commander on Sunday, said vigilantes in northeastern
Nigeria captured the 11 suspected members of the Boko Haram sect and
handed them over to the army.
He added that four of the suspects died of injuries they sustained on
Saturday night when they engaged members of the JTF in a gun battle.
"The youth vigilantes mobilised from Maiduguri to Michika in pursuit
of six Boko Haram terrorists who fled from Bama and succeeded in
arresting them along with five other terrorists hosting them," he
toldAFP.
In a related development, the Commanding Officer of Special Operation
Battalion, Mubi, Lt.- Col. Beyidi Martins confirmed the arrest of the
11 suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Michika, Adamawa State.
He said six of the suspects were taken to Maiduguri, while two of the
remaining five brought to Mubi died while trying to resist arrest.
"Two of the remaining three also died today (Sunday) from injuries
inflicted on them by the civilian JTF. One is still alive and is being
interrogated,'' Martins said.
