Accused person absconds from court

There was a mild drama at the Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti
State capital when an accused person, Joseph Francis, sneaked out of
the court on Friday.
It was gathered that Francis disappeared from the court premises when
the magistrate refused to grant him bail.
An official of the court, who spoke on the condition of anonymity,
said, "Francis secretly left the courtroom. He was going towards
Adebayo before a search party tracked him down around Fajuyi Park."
The accused later pleaded for leniency, saying, "I don't want to go
back to prison. That place was not good for me. Let me go home. I will
not do that again."
Earlier in his ruling, Magistrate Bayode Owoeye, ordered that the
accused should be remanded in prison, pending the consideration of his
bail application.
