A 75-year-old man has been arrested after a home-made bomb was left
near a mosque in Walsall.
About 150 people were evacuated from homes near the mosque in Rutter
Street after bomb disposal experts were called to the scene on
Saturday evening.
Neighbours described hearing a bang on Friday but it was only when a
member of the public took the device inside the Aisha Mosque that
police were called, reports the BBC.
The man was arrested at his home in Walsall on Thursday afternoon.
He was detained on suspicion of causing an explosion likely to
endanger life or damage property, West Midlands Police said.
The suspect was taken to a police station in the West Midlands where
he is being questioned.
His home address is being searched as part of the investigation.
