Boston bomb: Suspect indicted on 30 counts, faces death penalty

Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has
been indicted on a total of 30 counts, including the use
of a weapon of mass destruction, over the April
attacks, federal prosecutors said Thursday. Earlier,
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving brother implicated in the
deadly Boston Marathon bombings, was charged with using
weapons of mass destruction to kill people, a federal crime
which is punishable by death, the Justice Department said.
We recall that Tsarnaev, a naturalized US citizen of Chechen
origin who remains hospitalized after sustaining serious
injuries during the course of his arrest, agreed to "voluntary
detention," but declined to answer questions regarding bail,
the court record reads.
Tsarnaev, 19, faces the death penalty or life imprisonment on
17 of the counts. Three people were killed and more than 260
were wounded in the bombings at the finish line of the
Boston marathon.
